We break down the simple fact that Amazon Alexa and similar devices are always listening and are spying on you to gather information. They take this information and use it to market stuff you talk about to you. These devices come across as helpful, but as John Simpson from Consumer Watchdog said "Instead of charging you for these surveillance devices, Google and Amazon should be paying you to take one into your home". We also look at a 1999 video from Microsoft that shows what a home of the future would look like. It is wild how much they actually got right!
